St Lori is a well know brand in the manufacture of kaftans, sourced through the wholesaler in Melbourne, these are produced by a small family run factory in India using the finest cottons and manufacturing excellence.
Fabric & Style
A midweight cotton which is so cool and soft against your skin has been used to create this kaftan, a box cut style with a fringed blue trim on the edges. It is box cut with no discernible sleeves finished with rows of vertical stitching on the sides.
A truly gorgeous print, over a pale grey background is a mandala made up of a hand drawn stylized floral with butterflies, hummingbirds and seashells in shades of grey with tan, black and pops of pink and vibrant blue, it's really gorgeous.
Fit & Function
I love the way this kaftan looks and feels, the cotton is dense enough to not be see through, however as what often happens with this style, the stitching is too far away from the side seams for my liking on my apple shape, if you are a sewer, I suggest that this side seam can be unpicked and sewn closer to the edge of the fabric. I am normally a plus size 18/20, apple shaped and 170cm tall, it falls to just down my thigh, I would not suggest it for any size larger, unless you are happy to move the 'side seams'.
The overall actual measurements of the garment are, 94cm wide, 87cm from the back of the neck to the hemline. The side seam is 16cm from the edge of the fabric, indicating that it will fit to a 120cm hip. The stitching stops 34cm from the hemline.
