I have brought in a range of lightweight kaftan tops from my scarf supplier, the brand is Isabella, for a budget pop of colour. They are polyester, which I normally would not stock, but these colours and prints were too good to pass up on, the alternative would have been silk, but the price would have been too high.
For a casual addition to your summer wardrobe, this kaftan top is a half circle, the hemline edges up at the sides, the side seam is only an 11cm row of stitching just under the space for your arm to go through, 16cm in from the edge of the fabric. This creates a really nice shape. Wear over jeans and cami or a nice dress, or smart pants and heels for an evening, can also be worn as a beach cover up. Over a background of different shades of pink there are beautiful hand drawn florals in blues and mint greens. The v neckline is embellished with tiny glass beads over a traditional indian design using all of the colours of the background, finished off with a hemline border.
Fit & Function
It is gorgeous, very easy fit, the fabric has a chiffon feel, it is very soft and lightweight, and is slightly sheer, for these images I am wearing a white cami under it when I am in the white jeans. It fits me with room to spare, I am currently an 20/22 and apple shaped and 170cm tall, this top falls to partway down my thighs, higher at the sides.
